The CILENTO DIET contains in one word many actions travelling
in an harmonic symbiosis and creating
a place
made of myths and traditions.
The Cilento is one of the most wide and beautiful country
of the whole region.
The sea laps its coast is surely the most
clear , rich and astonishing of the whole
Campania,
so to earn a lot of "Bandiere Blu (Blue Flags)" and "Cinque vele di Legambiente".
Cilento is all along land of philosophers (Parmenides, Zeno of Elea...), writers likes Homer, adopted land for Gian Battista Vico and
Ernest Hemingway, land of Saints (Saint Gregory IV and Saint Matthew) and sailors (Leon di Caprera).
All have appreciated its marvellous
fruits
and its always favourable climate...
From here passed and lived Greeks, Phocians,
Lucanians, Romans, Normans, Lombards, the
Bourbons, French, the Savoias and the Great
War Allies.
All understood the secret of good living
and the art of good food.
Cilento was also land of revolutions,
lands
of bandits or Bandits of Freedom (the risings of 1828-1868, the Pisacane landings).
The Cilento is first of all land of Mediterranean Diet, Health, Culture, History, Traditions, Agriculture,
Work, Tourism and Comfort.
:: The Restaurant ::
The Antico Casale has been recently rebuilt respecting the typical architecture of Cilento
and its fascinating structure, made of local stone and chestnut wood, allows to preserve the healthy and natural
atmosphere typical of the past.
In order to understand who we are, it´s
necessary to visit our kitchen where every
processing is made like in the past. La Fornace Restaurant-Pizzeria, a friendly and welcoming restaurant nearby
the WWF Oasis, has a typical Cilento´s cooking;
thanks to its great external terrace, guests could enjoy a breathtaking view on Cilento hills and in the summertime they
could wander in the coolness.
The menu, different for each season, is made
up of typical local dishes, that our cook personalize respecting the
local traditions.
Here it´s possible to taste a large
number of dishes and drinks, included local
products and wines. All this is added to
the great experience to make pizzas, cakes and meat and fish dishes.
